Can I plot just points?
Instead of entering a function, I like to give the 3D coordinates to Graphing Calculator 3D and have the software plot them for me.
Does your software do that?

Re: Can I plot just points?
Plotting points is now planned for next release and implementation has already started. It will be there in version 2.3 which we estimate to be released by August 20th.
If you have any questions about this feature or would like to place a request for other features post a reply in this forum.

can't figure out how to plot 3D points
I've tried to download version 2.3 per the email dated 8/7/08 since it is supposed to allow graphing of just points, but the version 2.3 link takes me to version 2.5. While I would assume 2.5 has all of the features of 2.3 and more, I cannot figure out how to plot just points.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Can I plot just points?
Thanks for bringing this to my attention lasers51. It seems like the unknowingly we disabled the plotting of point Tables. We will quickly fix that release a new version. Meanwhile you can do the following as work around:
1) Plot z=0 (or y=0 if you want to plot 2D points).
2) Select "Draw: Points" in Draw Attributes.
3) Modify, remove or add new points to the series of x,y,z values that were automatically generated for z=0.
Let me know if you had problems with the above or have more questions.
cheers,
Saeid

3D Points and Vectors
3D Points would be great. Vectors as well would be over the edge.

Re: Can I plot just points?
In current version (v2.6) the issue with x-y-z points are fixed. Now you can put the 2D or 3D coordinates of your points in the table and observe them being plotted immediately after each coordinate is inserted.
Example shown here:

As for vectors over the edge, I'm not sure what you mean. Can you explain more?

Being able to plot vectors in 3D space would be fantastic, extremely cool, "over-the-edge".
Ridiculous slang, I know, but isn't most slang a little silly?

Re: Can I plot just points?
Hehe, with all the talks about points, vectors and edges I was thinking of "edge" in a mathematical context!
With that definition, the current version of Graphing Calculator 3D is not "over-the-edge" yet but since I got several requests for inclusion of vectors I will add that to the next version.
I will keep you posted about that here in this forum.
Cheers,
Saeid
