When I write piR^2
or
6S^2
I get the error message
"Cannot have more than 5 expressions in Free Edition !"
-
Is 6S^2 equivalent to 5 expressions ??

When you type 6S^2 and press Enter, because S is an unknown variable the software will try to add a new expression starting with S= to declare S.
But if you have the Free Edition and already have 5 lines then you will get the "Cannot have more than 5 expressions in Free Edition !" message because Free Edition can not accommodate more than 5 lines.
