3 questions...from my first experience using this calculator

Post  steve waterman on Wed Mar 21, 2012 9:31 am

1
when I enter
x = pi,
y = pi
y = -pi
it returns the expected planes

when I also enter
z = pi
x = -pi
z = -pi

these 3 planes seem to be missing...

2
also, can one control the size of the diameter for single points...say even as diameter sqrt 2

3
what import formats are allowed...will it accept an .off file ?

after seeing two instruction videos...

Post  steve waterman on Wed Mar 21, 2012 12:07 pm

I just found the video instruction.

So, the only question that remains from those three...
1 can I input .off files...and what file types/formats...can I input ?

Now please, another question
2 Given 3 coordinate points...can I get it to make a triangle ?

and a third , s.v.p.
3 given a bunch of points...could it construct a convex hull from them ?

Hi Steve, here are the answers to your three questions:

steve waterman wrote:1) can I input .off files...and what file types/formats...can I input ?
You cannot import .off files. The only file format that you can import is .csv which can would consist of a columns for x, y and z values. You can use Ms Excel for that and save it as .csv

steve waterman wrote:2) Given 3 coordinate points...can I get it to make a triangle ?
Yes, but the software needs a minimum of 4 coordinates so to make a triangle you would have 4 coordinates, with 2 coordinates having same value.

steve waterman wrote:3) given a bunch of points...could it construct a convex hull from them ?
No we did not add this feature because not many users need to draw convex hull using our software. We can add this feature for you but it would be a custom project with a cost.

If you have more questions please do not hesitate to post them here.

figured out myself...missing planes

Post  steve waterman on Thu Mar 22, 2012 1:46 pm

Okay...figured out why those planes did not show...one x value...not two different values...as per pi and -pi.

Hey I am still a newbie here ...learning curve thingie, eh.
